FAQ

  • What is the IJM Fellowship role?

IJM creates yearly fellowship positions at many of their field offices, creating space for people who don’t have direct experience in non-profit work to contribute the skills and experience they do have to help the field team. These positions are unpaid and unsubsidized, so we are completely responsible for raising our own funding. You can read more on IJMs fellowship program here.

  • What is Pure Charity?

Pure Charity is a 501(c)(3) non-profit entity, which is focused on helping simplify fundraising for charity work. It is separate from IJM, however, it is legally responsible for how funds are distributed. IJM partners with Pure Charity, and as a part of this, Pure Charity reviews the scope of the fellowship position to ensure that it fulfills IRS requirements for tax-deductible giving. For more insight on Pure Charity governance and regulation, visit their site here.

  • How are we using Pure Charity?

Based on IJM’s recommendations for those in their fellowship program, we are using Pure Charity to raise, monitor, and administer funds for our mission. Funds given through our fundraiser will go directly to the mission driven work that we will be doing.

  • Will I get a receipt from Pure Charity for my donation?

Yes! Whenever you give through the online form, you will receive an automated email receipt. Additionally, you will get a year end statement, sent to you via email at the start of the next year. If you need a copy of your receipt for whatever reason, please let us know, and we can request that Pure Charity send a duplicate. You can learn more about the process here.

  • Can I donate to Pure Charity through a Donor Advised Fund (DAF)?

The short answer is “yes”, Pure Charity has an avenue to receive donations from a DAF. We are working on creating a streamlined process for this, but in the mean time, if you would like to pursue this avenue, please contact us directly for updates and instructions.
