Preparing for our Journey

We really want you to be involved and up to date with the work that you are supporting! Each month, Alyssa and I will post an update, with pictures, stories, and videos sharing what we are doing, and what God is doing in our lives. When we post these, we will also share via email with those who want to be a part of our prayer list.

This is a big transition, and we’re leaning on the prayer, wisdom, and support of our community. We’d love to hear your advice, encouragement, and positive thoughts throughout our journey. Specifically, in the next few months we’re hoping for:

  • A smooth transition to Bangkok- There are many logistical hurdles involved in moving to a foreign country. During the months leading up to our move, we will need to find an apartment in Bangkok and get it ready for our arrival, create a plan for visa application and renewals, and make arrangements to leave our home in San Francisco.

  • Growth and unity as a couple in this exciting season- In our experience, added responsibility in life can mean added stress, which can easily create divides between us. We are super excited to figure out how to be good partners to each other in a whole new environment and culture.

  • Impactful and sustainable work with IJM and the communities we’ll serve- Working in a different culture and community is already complex and challenging, and when the added factor of charity work is involved, it becomes even more complex and nuanced. Many people have negative views on foreign aid, and navigating those conversations and situations is difficult.

It is only with God’s strength and compassion that we are able to go and serve, so we need your prayer TONS over the next year.

God bless!
